GASOS and EBHEK
The Cypriot solar water heater industry is represented by the Union of Solar Energy Industrialists of Cyprus (EBHEK), which was founded in 1977 and is one of the oldest Industrial Unions established in Cyprus, and naturally constitutes a member of the wider family of members of the Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB).
The vision of the people in the field that includes the utility and the simplicity of solar thermosiphon systems, resulted in Cyprus being among the most developed solar thermal markets, while it is by far the first country in Europe, and 2nd globally, regarding the total installed capacity per capita, which reaches 0.5 kWth per inhabitant, and corresponds to approximately 0.9 m² of installed solar collectors per inhabitant.
Today, EBHEK numbers 18 regular members-industries active in the manufacturing and installation of solar water heaters and 30 associate members, which constitute companies, organisations, and persons directly or indirectly related to the solar water heater sector.
Gasos is a member of this family and is certified in installing systems by the Ministry of Energy.
